As If I’m Not There is about a remarkable woman who endured the most frightful and traumatic situation during the Balkan wars in 1992 based on the acclaimed book by Slavenka Drakulic.

Synopsis

Admidst the tragedy, nightmare and darkness of the Balkan Conflict, a young woman struggles to cling to humanity, and to seek and eventually find a reason for hope.

Based on the acclaimed book by Slavenka Drakulic As If I’m Not There is utterly compelling. Set in Bosnia 1992, it has the potential to be a powerful, moving and poignant film about a remarkable woman who faced the most appalling situation during the Balkan wars .

The film will be shot in October-November in Macedonia and Sweden starting October 5th, 2009. Director Juanita Wilson from Ireland is doing her feature film debut.
